Movies!!!

As usual I am extremely excited about the upcoming movies. First on the list is of course Casino Royale. Any James Bond movie is a must see, no matter how much uglier the bond girls get and no matter how blond the protagonist becomes. Then there is DOA, which has got all the bad elements of the movies I love; no plot whatsoever, an image sold on sex, “let-me-put-my-coat-down-before-I-kill-you” humor, and of course most importantly, beautifully choreographed fight scenes (from the director of the TRANSPORTER). But the most anticipated movie right now is 300. A pretty famous cast if you pay attention, but no big time actors. Based on Frank Millers 300, I simply refuse to believe that it will be any less interesting than Sin City. The movie focuses on the battle Thermopylae, in 480 B.C. when Greece is forced to fight against the invading Persian army, of about 260,000 men, with about 1000 soldiers. 300 of which are Spartans. Hence 300. It’s so beautiful (with all that slow motion in all the right times thing..sooo cool) I really don’t have the words to describe it accurately, so watch the trailer.

P.S.- the nine inch nails song in the trailer couldn’t be more fitting. Sigh

The Sail

One of my favorite poems, if not the favorite (others include "I wish you were promiscuous" and "To the kitchen"). Anyway, heres the poem, read it slowly if you really want to get that sense of lonliness that is portrayed so beautifully in this poem.

M. Lermontov.
